Fish shack on Port Fortune Road in Chatham

Cape Cod Architecture

There's more to Cape Cod architecture than just the usual Cape Cod Saltbox. We would need all the pages of this edition to fully describe the unique architecture of Cape Cod.

Because of the foresight of your hosts, more of it has been preserved than in most other parts of America.

Masonic Hall in Wellfleet

On the right is a fish shack of major proportions on Port Fortune Road off Champlain in Chatham next to Stage Harbor. On the left, a Victorian home on Route 6A in Brewster. That route is an Historic District called King's Highway and runs from Sandwich to Orleans. At the bottom of the page is the 201 year old Masonic Hall in Wellfleet with its steep, Mansard Roof.
