"For young adults, her bios are in fact little masterpieces of distillation perfectly suited for those of us who are interested in the major public figures of the age, but not so interested that we want or have time to go through a 900 page behemoth about each one of them. I would guess that three tons of research, in Libby's case. yields half an ounce of final copy, the way three tons of roses or jasmine boils down to a pricey half ounce of perfume."
