Truro summer cottage
Tour Truro
Pilgrims found their first fresh water here and 10 bushels of corn which they stole from the Pamet Indians.
With only 1,500 citizens, Truro has the smallest Cape population. And, because more than half of its land falls within the Cape Cod National Seashore Park, it is also our least developed town. The moors resemble Scotland; the dunes, some towering seventy feet above the sea, are the tallest on the east coast.
George Washington ordered the construction of Highland Light America's first lighthouse. Adjacent to the nearby golf course, discover the castle tower a lovesick playboy built. The cottages at Beach Point in North Truro are reminders of a gentle, Cape Cod past. There aren't many roads to follow (check out our maps); however,we suggest exploring Old County, South Pamet and Highland Roads. Also, be sure to walk Balston Beach and bike the Pilgrim Spring bike path.
