Rental Requirements

CREDIT CARD - A major credit card is required to rent a car. The credit card must be in the renter's name and we require that an advance credit approval be obtained in an amount not less than the greater of USD 100.00 or the estimated rental charges plus an extra day's rental charges. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, Discover Card and American Express credit cards. Debit cards are not acceptable.

INSURANCE - If the Renter elects to decline TREK's CDW insurance coverage, we will require proof of personal insurance coverage in the renter's name. Insurance card or policy with Renter's name are acceptable. Inquire at the rental counter for coverages offered by TREK.

DRIVING RESTRICTIONS - Because TREK rents used vehicles, geographic driving is restricted to the Northeast region of the United States. Our vehicles are NOT insured to drive in Canada. If the vehicle is driven over the free miles allowance, there is a mileage charge of 25 cents per mile after the free mileage allowance.

AGE - The minimum age to rent or drive a CAR is twenty one (21) years old. A surcharge will apply to anyone under twenty five (25) years of age. The minimum age to rent or drive a VAN is twenty five (25) years old.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER - Additional drivers may be added to the rental agreement at a charge of USD 5.00 per day. No charge for immediate family members. The additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the Renter.

LICENSE - Valid drivers licenses issued in your State or Country are acceptable as well as International licenses.

TAXES - The State of Massachusetts imposes a Sales/Used tax of five (5) percent. The local Massachusetts town where the vehicle was rented from charges a one time Parking Surcharge of USD thirty cents. Also, TREK collects an Excise tax for the local town of one (1) percent. Taxes are charged on time and mileage only.
